Hi again Kathy,
Glad to see you here. I also appreciate your website and personal help! I have been lurking here since the beginning and don't post much for the same reasons. I look forward to meeting you at Healdsburg.
Regards,
Glen Herman

A big welcome to the OlF. I used your site to decide which tools I needed to start building and it was a big help. I even copied your workmate setup . Thanks for taking the time to create a site that has helped and encouraged many new builders.

Hi Kathy and welcome aboard. We hope you will come out of "lurker mode" and be an active participant here. Please stop by our table as well as visit the rest of the APM luthiers who will be exhibiting at HB and introduce yourself. We would all love to meet you in person.

Welcome, Welcome Lady Mentor,

Many is the time that I have been stuck or uncertain and surfed over to Kathy's website to see how she handled the same situation. You've got to love someone who tells you the good, the bad and the not-so-pretty about something you're about to attempt.

Actually, I might not be here if not for finding FRETS.com on Kathy's site which indirectly led me to Lance's place.

Welcome Kathy...I echo many who have thanked you for the inspiration to take the plunge into this crazy obsession.

Let us know what you're up to and feel free to chime in...it's nice to have a different perspective to consider. Sometimes we just have a little too much testosterone and often need opinions from Venus

OK, now I can see a downside to having Kathy on the forum.     Brock, Lance we need your help on this. You see the problem is there is no spell checker on the poster. And, judging from the standard of spelling on the forum (well you Americans spell funny anyway ) Kathy's going to be giving us very bad grades. And as for the syntax and grammar, we're lost causes!

Kathy, please be kind to us.

Colin

Again...thanks to all for your nice greetings! Finished my schoolwork (at
least a bit of it), so now I can afford to write a little more....

As for you all being worried about watching your grammar...don't worry!!!
I do like good grammar, but am not a stickler about it outside of school
(except for a few particular errors which drive me BATTY, such as using
"it's" for the possessive "its" and "your" for the contraction "you're"!!!!). So
now you've been forewarned! (Just kidding...or not!)

As for what I've been up to lately...well, this summer I worked on two
tenor ukuleles (one as a gift for a retiring teacher friend, and the other for
me). Most of the rest of my summer has been taken up by various home
improvement tasks that I never get the chance to get around to during
the school year -- having my house exterior painted, yard worked on,
etc.... Now school is upon me (in a week), so things will be different.
After I built the ukes, however, I got this notion in my head to make one
of those cute banjo ukuleles, so I'm going to try to fit that in somehow...

You can try to turn off the english teacher in you but I don't think it's possible My grandmother taught highschool english and has spent the better part of her retirement correcting my spoken and written english at every opportunity

Lance should just give you admin powers so when you find a really bad post you can edit it in red font

Kathy's site is great! It has been a great source over the years. Thanks so much for taking the time to put that together. Kathy and I talked (e-mailed) years ago ... wow has it been that long? (I doubt she even remembers)

Certainly if you get a chance at the HGF to swing by and introduce yourself, please do. That would be wonderful. (Your the best)

Thanks again and welcome.

PS. Of course the invite goes out to all of you, please stop by at the HGF.

Great to see you here!

As with many other newbies, your site was one of the first to have me seriously consider the possibility of building acoustics, and is just an all-round pleasure to browse around and mine for info.
